56 Leonard Street Skyscrapper

NEW YORK CITY.

Widely known as the 'cool'est firm of our generation, Herzog & de Meuron have released their design for a new residential tower in the midst of Tribeca - this is also the firm's first tower. The 57-story holds 145 residences, which have been arranged to look like a stack of individual apartments, deconstructing our 'stereotypical' image of high rise bulidings. The firm describes this vertical arrangement as “houses stacked in the sky,” with the purpose of blending interior/exterior spaces together as they move up.

The structure fell in the hands of WSP Cantor Seinuk, also known for working on the structure of the upcoming Freedom Tower.

I don't know about you, but I can't wait until the final product gets finalized. Now I know what I would do if I won the lottery.
