The race is on to be the first major player to introduce electric hybrid and electric cars. While the nation if not world has been caught up with GM's stunning Chevy Volt the Japanese are not far behind. Nissan a company that originally scorned the idea of hybrid cars has been working in overdrive to catch up to its competitors. It is currently working on bringing to market an electric vehicle and electric hybrid in 2010 the same year the Volt is expected to launch. The primary advancement of the vehicle's technologies are currently the lithium ion batteries and new 80khw motor leaving the design for later stages. This is in stark contrast to GM's approach of completely redesigning the car in its process. The only question will be who will get there first?
