URBANUS

"The name of “Urbanus” derives from the Latin word of “urban”, and strongly reflects the office’s design approach: reading architectural program from the viewpoint of the urban environment in general, and the ever changing urban situations in specific. Urbanus is committed to the Modernist believe that architecture is a pivotal force for a better life, and hence architects should push the boundary of their traditional role and be a progressive force in the society."
Urbanus is a chinese firm based in Beijing, relatively young (founded in 1999) and one which has taken China's architecture and urbanism revolution at full speed. There isn't much I can say about the firm besides urge you to check their work.

to add to ed's insightful

to add to ed's insightful insight, i have been to their offices in shenzhen and they do have some of the sickest work of any of the firms i saw in china. their concern not only for aesthetics but also for the social well-being of the people for whom they are designing, particularly in some of their housing projects, sets them apart from a lot of other firms. also, they seem like kind of a fun place to work (if you can get around the fact that they are located in shenzhen...although i hear they have a beijing office which might be interesting). their office is stacked not only with plots and 3d-renderings but also with models of all scales from the very conceptual to the very slick finalized ones. in any case, i think that some of their work speaks for itself so as ed suggests y'all should go check it out.

I'd like to comment also

I'd like to comment also that if you remove the 'B', you're left with Uranus.

urbanus - 'b' = uranus

urbanus - 'b' = uranus

and if, after this, you

and if, after this, you remove the 'ur'...
