White Sox win first World Series since 1917; Biggio's wife slapped

Yes it happened.  The White Sox actually    did win the World Series for the first time since 1917.  Players poured onto the field from the dugout after the Sox won game four 1-0.  They completed the sweep against the Astros, after their first World Series appearance ever.

The Windy City can finally celebrate a World Series champ.  Unfotunately, Houston Astros second baseman Craig Biggio's wife paid the price.  During game two in Chicago, Patty Biggio was slapped by a male fan.  He had been taunting her and verbally abusing her the entire game and was thrown out after the slap.  White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen apologized to the Astros after the game.

Speaking of Ozzie Guillen, he stated in the past that if his team won the World Series, he would retire.  Guillen is only 41-years-old, and souces say that he will not retire in the offseason.  Only time will tell.  For now we can all relax and be happy the Windy City won't be suffering, at least till Winter.
