Picasso's Guernica in 3D

New Perspective on Picasso's Controversial Masterpiece, Guernica.  Artist Lena Gieseke has recomposed Picasso's piece completely in 3D.  "I believe this an amazing way to revisit this piece, plus the music is on note"-JR

"The idea of creating a 3D version of an influential artwork came out of doing jigsaw puzzles of famous paintings. When you assemble a jigsaw, you study a painting in great detail and you become aware of the very lines, shapes and colors that the painting is composed of and how these elements merge to create a unified expression. Through the puzzle, you explore the artwork, examining details your eye might not have caught otherwise. Your experience of the painting is intense, aroused by the action of puzzling, but expanded and strengthened by your own fantasy." -Lena Giseke

Update: Abraham Obama

Yep, this an official update to yesterday article - "Lincoln - Obama Pop Art," I got a e-mail this morning straight from the source JetSetGraffiti.com. Jet Set Graffiti is the street team behind Ron English that is aiding with posting these posters all over the country and a dispering the word on the web via /Abraham-Lincoln.So here is the email I got in it's complete totality:

First, and most importantly, to support the Obama campaign; The link to
purchase the open edition Abraham Obama poster:

http://www.jetsetgraffiti.com/2008/07/07/ron-englishs-abraham-obama-poster-for-sale/

On July 2nd, Ron English went to Gallery XIV in Boston to treat the locals
to a fantastically colorful display of larger than life posters of his
historic and iconic image; "Abraham Obama". An interesting fusion of
Abraham Lincoln, and Barack Obama, this image raised all kinds of
questions among the fine art cognoscenti in Beantown.

Later that evening, exactly 232 years after the signing of the Declaration
of Independence, and under the cover of darkness, the ghost of Abraham
Lincoln cast his vote for our next president of the USA by wheatpasting
Ron’s offset posters all over the city.  The next morning the
“crisis” started as Gallery XIV began fielding tons of phone calls
from concerned citizens, business owners, and even the Mayor’s office…
Who could have created such Anarchy in the streets? Now they know; Lincoln
says, “That’s Wassup!”

Pascal Dangin: Master Retoucher

Who is Pascal Dangin?  He is the retoucher for stars.  Pretty he master that professionally photoshops fashion photos for editorial.  His aid is so high demand, for his techincal and as well as his taste of what is visually appealing in photography.  Majority of well known photographer such as Annie Leibovitz, Steven Meisel, Craig McDean and more will not allow one of their images to be published with it passing the hands of Dangin's studio.

I mentioned the Dove ad campaign that proudly featured lumpier-than-usual “real women” in their undergarments. It turned out that it was a Dangin job. “Do you know how much retouching was on that?” he asked. “But it was great to do, a challenge, to keep everyone’s skin and faces showing the mileage but not looking unattractive.”

If you are interested in Photoshop or Photography or the business of graphics the New Yorker article on Pascal Dangin is a great read.

Schweppes Burst - Commercial

Very picturesque commercial using an ultra slow camera, which takes about 10,000 frames per second, to allow us to view water ballons slowly bursting.
