Steve Reich - Piano Phase

Composed by Steve Riech (in 1967)

Played by Peter Aidu (1 musician 2 pianos)

Reich's phasing works generally have two identical lines of music, which begin by playing synchronously, but slowly become out of phase with one another when one of them slightly speeds up.

Steinski - What Does It All Mean?

Steinski

Steve Stein aka Steinski, is a famed soundmasher, DJ, record collector and advertising writer.  He recombined music sifted through everything from funk and soul to film and found sound to help sequence the genes of sample-based hip-hop, which has since become ground zero for copyfight headaches. The most popular of Steinski's productions are his three hip-hop "lessons," which are streamed below. They have gone on to influence everyone from DJ Shadow and Girl Talk to Missy Elliott.

Illegal Art has now complied a 23 years of his mixes in a Retrospective, "What Does it All Mean"

Banhart

If you're one of those weirdoes that reads the comments on other peoples posts then you probably know that I commented on how I think Devendra Banhart's music (see the 'Carmensita' post) was pretty cool if you're into indie/folk. I also said I was a badass and was not into indie/folk, which was a lie. However, browsing through the 'tube' (or rather, the 'youtube') I came across one of his videos. If you're forced into going to a fingerfoods party, I think this is probably the way to do it.

Natalie Portman in Devendra Banhart’s "Carmensita"

Idk, but CR writers got some love for any video with indians dancing plus for Natalie Portman. This video combines the best of both worlds.

This song actually has apretty catchy beat, it was made for Devendra Banhart, Portman's current Boyfriend.

Girl Talk "Feed the Animal" Mash Up Videos

Cool, a new way to enjoy Girl Talk's latest EP, "Feed the Animals." One fan, Chris Beckman, has started to pick through The EP and make mashup videos for each of the tracks, he is already up to his 3 video:
"I'll continue to make these when I have a free evening every now and then. Hopefully I can do all the songs until the whole album has one long video mixtape."
I recommend subscribing to his Youtube page @ BunnyGreenHouse for more updates on when the other 11 videos are made/released. Source: Fimoculous
