Apparently from this interview the explosions are real.

It's probably just a gas bomb. Napalm would have killed them all.
I love the second guy getting all that crap thrown right in his face as he does a grind.

Napalm just burns.....for a long time. It is not explosive. You can actually make it yourself with gas and styro-foam.

Napalm would not have killed them all, it doesn't explode like a bomb. It just sits there and burns for a really long time.
