Reich's phasing works generally have two identical lines of music, which begin by playing synchronously, but slowly become out of phase with one another when one of them slightly speeds up.

This was originally created from 2 tape loops of the same track. Both played simultaneously but one just slightly faster than the other so they will eventually play out of sync, then eventually in sync again. IMO this takes a VERY skilled musician to be able to play it live!

So beautiful. While many I'm sure would find it repetitive, the essence of phasing is within the subtle note changes and evolution as the two sounds merge and dance together. Absolutely beautiful, well done.
