This is for all the graphic design geeks and the Woody Allen fans
A promotional trailer for the typeface Heroine
via Swiss-MissHeroine is inspired by the typeface Windsor, designed by Eleisha Pechey in 1905. Windsor is the typeface used in the titles of many Woody Allen movies. A modern interpretation of this rusty pearl is something that always have been missing in the major type libraries. But Heroine is not only an interpretation, it goes beyond that. With the addition of swashes and alternate letters in several styles it becomes very addicitve.
John explains:
Really interesting segment on how hip-hop talks about loving God, but a lot of rappers actions are contradictory to their beliefs.God and Hip-Hop have always had a complicated relationship. We wanted to explore first whether fans of the music wanted to talk about God, but also if the two can successfully co-exist in a mainstream capacity. What we found was unexpected: people WANTED to talk about it and there were a wide-range of opinions on the topic from both artists and fans that raised the question of if the industry and pop culture are truly in touch with what people on the corner and in their homes are talking about. This episode features Skyzoo, stic.man of Dead Prez and a good number of opinionated music consumers talking back and revealing some surprisingly honest perspectives on a topic considered taboo.

Something about people’s work area always intrigues me. Maybe that’s why I love looking at theSelby, I love clean & minimal as much as I love crazy & convoluted. I am feeling my workplace should resemble a mix between Steve Jobs calmness and Al Gore’s confusion.

This might have to be the next computer I own. I know I can sometimes give Apple some crap, either when I post about the Zune HD (which I own and love) or how Windows 7 will kill. But all in all I always loved the styling and hardware of a Mac, I actually was considering the option of buying a macbook pro and throwing windows on it. Only because Mac has the nicest looking laptops, the aluminum chassis is amazing.
Now comes HP with the Envy. I love how they have the audacity to outright steal Mac’s design. It like a weird dream came true. The body of a Mac and the brain of Windows 7. One thing that makes me hesitate to get this machine is the lack of an optical drive. I am really to lazy to plug one in, trust me I have been putting off plugging my external (hard drive) into my laptop for over a week now.
Specs: 13 or 15in screen, Radeon HD 4330 discrete graphics, and 1st laptop to use the new intel i7 chipset.

I can't say I like the music, but the video is great. Features two mimes in an epic battle of imaginary wit.
